I’m pleased to announce v4.0.0 of Inno Setup Extractor, which is now available for download from the Google Play Store and GitHub.
Inno Setup Extractor is a project I started almost 10 years ago as a way to extract Inno Setup installers on Android. At the time, I was maintaining a port of CorsixTH for Android (a project I hope to return to at some point), and the process to get the Theme Hospital game files onto an Android device was difficult. For users who had purchased Theme Hospital from gog.com, Inno Setup Extractor offered a way to extract the game files directly on the device – no copying required!
In the four years since the previous release, v3.2.0, a lot has changed in the Android. I’ve given Inno Setup Extractor a new look and feel which gives better feedback, especially when extracting GOG installers. It also makes better use of scoped storage (that means the app can’t access more data than is absolutely necessary). In addition, the version of innoextract (the underlying library that is used to extract) has been upgraded to 1.8. That means better compatibility for newer installers.
